Google together with Chrysler, will create a media system based on Android for cars Portal Naked Science

This is not the first joint project of the Internet giant Google together with Fiat Chrysler. Previously, the company has developed a modification of the Chrysler Pacifica minivan with the autopilot, which will soon be tested on public roads. This time, the company announced a collaboration in the creation of a full-fledged media system for vehicles that will use the Android operating system. The project combines system from Fiat Chrysler, which is called UConnect, and a full-fledged Android 7.0. It will keep a user interface from the automaker and will gain the support of a number of Google’s applications, such for example, as voice assistant and Assistan Google Maps.

Earlier at the conference Google I/O representatives of the Internet giant told about the plans to tie absolutely all user devices of a single system Android, which involves the integration of the operating system and in the car. As the developers say, such software will allow drivers to control all vehicle functions through a mobile device.

Fiat Chrysler Representatives say that with the help of the Android operating system they can preserve the unique user interface of the Uconnect system, while adding many additional features from Google.
